The fall TV season officially starts anew in September, and with it comes new series that will become hits, others that will be cancelled and, of course, the return of your current TV favorites.
With all of that going on, you might be tempted to turn your entertainment streaming device of choice off until May when TV season finales arrive to start the summer binge-watching cycle once again. But there are plenty of reasons why you shouldn't do that.
One is because a new month always means new titles coming to streaming platforms, and Netflix is no exception. Whether you need to cram in a last-minute catch-up sesh on some fall TV before the new season of your favorite show begins or you're versatile enough to handle watching a new episode a week on network TV while also binge-watching something you should have caught years ago, you'll probably find some good shows on Netflix to satisfy your needs.
Some TV shows you might want to add to your Netflix queue in September include Season 5 of The Walking Dead, Season 1 of Gotham and the sixth and final season of Parenthood. Season 4 of Longmire will also premiere exclusively on Netflix Sept. 10.
Of course, you can never forget about the new movies Netflix always has to offer every month. September will bring classics like a restored version of Lawrence of Arabia and more recent critically acclaimed films like Up in the Air, Moonrise Kingdom and Philomena.
You also have a little bit more time to catch a few titles before they leave Instant Streaming next month. The British comedy series The IT Crowd, which is a favorite among Netflix users, will be leaving Instant Streaming in September as well as the beloved rom-com Sleepless in Seattle and Martin Scorsese's latest feature film The Wolf of Wall Street. Just like summer, these titles will be gone from Netflix in a flash, so you better catch them while you can.
