If you like horror films, you don't just love them, you're fanatical about them!
As a horror fan, nothing excites me more than reading 'based on a true story' the fact that the movie which is set to scare me senseless for an hour is always much more terrifying when I know some poor person has had to go through the ordeal, rather than it being a storyline conjured up by a dark-minded scriptwriter.
Here are six movies that are coming out soon, all based on true events.
1. 6 Miranda Drive
Starring Kevin Bacon, Radha Mitchell, David Mazouz, Lucy Fry, Matt Walsh, Jennifer Morrison and Parker Mack, it's set to be a supernatural thriller.
To be released this year the movie is about a family who visit the Grand Canyon and bring home a supernatural force that feeds off their fears and takes over their lives. Because souvenirs are so 2014.
Universal Pictures will release the film in 2015.
2. Demon House
note, promotional images have not yet been releasedFilmed in documentary style, it centers around a man who buys a house in Gary, Indiana. It seems that the house has had its fair share of spooky goings on, and the lead man would like to get to the bottom of it! Inviting around previous tenants to speak about what they have seen in the house a woman becomes possessed and begins speaking in tongues.
Following the extreme amount of activity documented, production had to be halted, but the movie has been finished one year later and, let's just say, it's going to make one scary documentary movie!
3. Leatherface
Starring Stephen Dorff, this movie documents the young life of Texas Chainsaw Massacre killer Leatherface. The events in TCM are based on true events, chainsaw included, so this is an idea of how the famous saw wielding blood thirsty maniac became so, so deranged!
A teenage patient escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates. They kidnap a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell.
Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, played by Dorff.
The vengeful lawman has a vendetta against the teen boy who grows up to become Leatherface.
4. I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Yes, this movie is getting a re-make! Based on possibly true/urban legend 'the hook' the 1997 original was a smash hit.
