Though the Craigslist poster advertising this courtyard apartment in a "fabulous historical building" doesn't specify the name of the building, and the pix accompanying the ad are the patented Craigslist-murky, evidence points to it being West Hollywood's Chateau La Fontaine. Designed in 1930 by the prolific Leland Bryant, the Normanesque complex was declared a historic landmark in 2002, and has been home to such well-known tenants as Steve Martin, Bette Midler, and Dane Cook, who was evicted for not picking up after his dog. According to the ad, the townhouse apartment features two bedrooms, two baths with vintage tile, high ceilings with crown moldings, a wood-burning fireplace, a powder room, "lots of closets, " laundry facilities, and two-car parking. Monthly rent is a surprisingly reasonable $2, 475, but smokers and pet owners are outta luck.
