This visually dazzling film about young Saoirse, a girl who can turn into a seal, that goes on a quest with her brother to save creatures of the spirit world, will leave you breathless. It’s been a hit on the festival circuit so far, has been nominated for one Oscar and is set for general release this July.
The Minions from the Despicable Me films are a global sensation; thanks to their gobbledygook language of Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and more, their innocent and cheeky ways have helped them worm their way into the heart of millions. Now, they have their own stand-alone film in which we follow the story of Stuart, Kevin and Bob, who are hired by villainess Scarlet Overkill to help her take over the world. Of course, things don’t go entirely to plan.
With poster art worthy of a Disney Pixar film, this live-action/CGI action comedy brings the world’s much loved retro games to life… only problem is that they want to destroy the world as we know it. Starring Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, Sean Bean, and Michelle Monaghan, must battle the aliens who are waging war on earth. The best thing is that the aliens are doing so because they misinterpreted video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war. Love it.
From the creators of Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit comes an adaptation of the Shaun the Sheep franchise. For his big screen outing Shaun gets into trouble when a mix up with a farmer, a caravan and a steep hill land him and his friends into the big city. Shaun has to guide his flock back to the fields at all costs. Nothing beats some claymation.
Featuring the voices of Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, Benicio Del Toro, and James Franco (to name but a few), Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s classic novel of adventure, dreams and escapism comes to life. This is the first ever animated feature-film adaptation and it’s looking like it is going to be one to remember. When The Little Girl’s world of order, business and drabness is interpreted by an eccentric ma known as The Aviator, he takes her on a journey she’ll never forget, to meet The Little Prince.
