Movies Coming Out In July 2015: 12 Theatrical Release Dates And Trailers

Audiences have already seen the post-apocalyptic waste lands of “Mad Max: Fury Road, ” the dino-sized popularity of “Jurassic World” and maybe cried a lot or a little in the latest Pixar film, “Inside Out.”

Sequels like “Magic Mike XXL” and “Terminator Genisys” are hoping to bring fans back into the theaters and out of the summer heat. Families may want to buy their tickets in advance for movies like “Minions” and “Ant-Man” while they still have a chance. Meanwhile, smaller fare like “Paper Towns” and “Tangerine” are in search of viewers looking to escape the behemoth tent poles and accompanying large crowds.

Here are the 12 major movie releases coming to a theater near you in July:

1. “Magic Mike XXL, ” July 1

2. “Terminator Genisys, ” July 1

3. “Minions, ” July 10

4. “Selfless, ” July 10

A billionaire (Ben Kingsley) has every single thing his heart desires, except one: health. In an effort to survive cancer, he will undergo a procedure to move his consciousness into another body.

5. “Tangerine, ” July 10

Bursting out of the Sundance gate, the indie film “Tangerine” follows two trans prostitutes through a day of mischief, mayhem and holiday drama. It's one of the most electric movies to hit the big screen in 2015 and was shot on an iPhone 5. Keep that in mind when watching the impressive trailer below.

6. “Ant-Man, ” July 17

Paul Rudd suits up as the newest Marvel superhero who can shrink in size while gaining strength. Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly co-star.

7. “Trainwreck, ” July 17

8. “Paper Towns, ” July 24

In a film based on the book by the author of “The Fault in Our Stars, ” Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne star in this road trip comedy about finding “the missing girl next door.”

9. “Pixels, ” July 24

Aliens, '80s video games and Adam Sandler combine to make this one of the stranger options coming soon to theaters.

10. “Southpaw, ” July 24

Jake Gyllenhaal toughens up for the role of a boxing champ fighting to regain his title. Rachel McAdams and Forest Whitaker co-star.

11. “Vacation, ” July 29
