May 15, 2021 – 04:55 pm

womaninblackLooking for a good scare? Then 2015 is the year for you. The New Year will not only introduce new terror, but deliver follow ups to some fan favorite horror movies. From the chilling Christmas tale, “Krampus, ” to the third installment of “Insidious” – 2015 has a scary movie for everyone to watch.

“The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death” (Jan. 2)

Sorry, no Daniel Radcliffe in this movie. While the “Harry Potter” actor was featured in the first flick, the second installment of “The Woman in Black” will look to tell a haunting tale without British star. “Angel of Death” will take place 40 years after the first film, and will tell the story of a group of children who arrive at the Eel Marsh House after being forced to evacuate London in World War II. The synopsis on IMDB teases that upon their arrival the children will “awaken the house’s darkest inhabitant.”

“Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension” (Mar. 13)

The “Paranormal Activity” franchise is showing no signs of slowing down. The sixth film in the series is titled “The Ghost Dimension” and will follow a different family as they move into their new home. Actress Katie Featherston, who has appeared in all five “Paranormal Activity” films, will reprise her role as “Katie.”

“What We Do In The Shadows” (Feb. 13)

“What We Do In The Shadows” is a horror flick that offers some laughs. The movie is about three roommates … who just happen to be very old vampires.

“The Lazarus Effect” (Feb. 27)

“The Lazarus Effect” features an all-star cast of Evan Peters (“American Horror Story”), Olivia Wilde (“House”), Sarah Bolger (“Once Upon a Time”), Mark Duplass (“The League”) and Donald Glover (“Community”). Reportedly shot as “found-footage, ” this thriller is about a group of med students who “discover a way to bring dead patients back to life.”

“Insidious: Chapter 3” (June 5)

“Insidious” began as a chilling tale in 2010 – but how does the story truly begin? The third installment will be a prequel that focuses on psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye). Viewers will get to see Elise’s story prior to the Lambert family haunting.

“The Gallows” (July 10)

“Poltergeist” (July 24)

The original “Poltergeist” scared viewers when it was released in 1982, but it’s time for a remake. The new movie stars Sam Rockwell (“Seven Psychopaths”) and Rosemarie DeWitt (“United States of Tara”).

“Sinister 2” (Aug. 21)

“Sinister 2” is a follow up to the original 2012 movie. The new flick stars James Ransone (“Low Winter Sun”) and Shannyn Sossamon (“Mistresses”) and centers around a family that moves into a house that is “marked for death.”
