Rumors are circulating that the "Beauty and the Beast" lead star, Emma Watson, was subject to kidnapping on the set of the said film. However, the actress denied the validity of the speculations.

According to The Sun, two studio workers planned to either kidnap or rob the young actress, but the taxi driver overheard their discussion, which prevented them to carry on their plot.

The taxi driver then alerted the bosses who informed the film chiefs at Shepperton Studios near London. The production immediately sets up a security on Friday and assigned a guard outside Emma's trailer on the set.

The report says that the two men were talking in a foreign language. Unfortunately, the suspects, who were thought to be cleaners from Eastern Europe, were unaware that the cab driver understood every word they spoke. This foiled their plot.

A source told The Sun that there was a concern about Emma's safety. However, the rumor seems to lose its validity while the investigation goes forward. On Monday, a statement released by the spokesperson for the star and "Beauty and the Beast" says, "The story was looked into by production and found to be unsubstantiated and untrue, " Vogue has learned.

This was supported by Surrey Police, who admitted that they did not receive any reports relating to the incident, according to Mail Online.

The allegations about the kidnapping did not disturb the "Noah" star, in fact, she was spotted on Wednesday in London in a casual outfit running errands by herself.

As for her upcoming film, "Beauty and the Beast, " Alan Menken, who garnered two Academy Awards for his works on 1991's "Beauty and the Beast" will be scoring the reboot. The composer, actor and artist is famous for his works with the legendary Disney Studios since 1987. He also scored 1989's "The Little Mermaid, " 1992's "Alladin, " 1995's "Pocahontas" and 2010's "Tangled, " to name a few, according to E! Online,

As for Watson, she confirmed her casting on the movie via Facebook in January, she wrote, "It almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'. My 6-year-old self is on the ceiling-heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons." Watson, who rose to fame in playing Hermione Granger in the hit series, "Harry Potter, " added that she is excited for everyone to see it.
